Quality checks for exported coffee are not yet mandatory
In its report to the Prime Minister on the implementation of measures to boost exports in the last month of 2007, the Ministry of Industry and Trade recommended that quality inspection not be mandatory for exported coffee.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, applying mandatory standards to exported coffee is inappropriate and requires a roadmap that aligns with infrastructure, cultivation conditions, harvesting, and product consumption. Otherwise, it will lead to waste, bottlenecks, and significantly affect the production and export of this commodity.
According to the roadmap, from October 1, 2007, exported coffee will be required to undergo quality inspection according to TCVN 4193:2005 standards before customs clearance.
